Clarke County School District Volunteer Opportunities

"Parent and community engagement in our schools is a critical element of our shared mission to provide the best possible educational opportunities for all of our children.
The Clarke County School District appreciates your commitment and willingness to
invest in our children, our schools, our community. "

                                              - Superintendent James H. Simms

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Clarke County School District.  Below you will find a description of the various ways of getting involved from one-time projects such as school fairs and clean-up days to serving as a mentor or tutor on an on-going basis.

If you would like to know more about the Clarke County School District, please visit their website at www.clarke.k12.ga.us.

For a map of the schools please click here! ( I need the link for the county map- I was only able to find the map of the elementary schools)

You can also click on Volunteer Here! to see all the volunteer opportunities available from all our agency partners.

Mentors:  Mentors are motivators and inspirations, listeners and counselors, friends and playmates, communicators and bridge-builders to the students of all Clarke County schools.  Mentors are asked to visit with their mentee at least one hour a week. To learn more about becoming a mentor with the Clarke County Mentoring Program, click here!  (Background check and training required)

Tutors:  Tutors provide support to the students at Clarke County Schools during class time and after school programs. Tutors are asked to make a regular commitment and are needed in a variety of academic areas. To learn more about becoming a tutor, click here! (Background check and training required)

Interpreters: Volunteers are needed to serve as interpreters during parent-teacher conferences and other family events.  These volunteers help play a key role in ensuring that information is shared with Spanish-speaking and other foreign language family members about their students progress and school information.

To serve as an interpreter for the upcoming Pre-K Parent-Teacher Conferences from May 5-8, click here!

One-Time & School Specific Volunteer Opportunities: The Clarke County School District also has a variety of volunteer needs to support festivals, clean-up days, and many other events that help provide a well-rounded education for our students.  To learn more about any of these one-time volunteer opportunities click on the name of the school to find out what opportunities they have. Schools with active needs are bold and underlined
