Join SingleServe
A volunteer organization for parties of one
INFORMATIONAL MEETING: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2 at 5:30 PM Location: Community Connection Office
(1695 Old West Broad Street)
WHAT IS IT?
SingleServe is a NEW community service group
through HandsOn Northeast Georgia that facilitates
monthly service projects for singles to volunteer
for nonprofits.
Rather than committing to a single cause,
SingleServe will reach out to a myriad of charitable
groups and give participants the chance to
experience a variety of area community service
organizations.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
If you care about your community, and you want to
make it a better place to live and work. If you’re
looking for a way to connect to other singles, to
make friends and to have a good time. If you think
that every contribution someone makes can make a
difference.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We will facilitate a monthly service project for an
area nonprofit through the Community Connection
network of agencies. We will serve a variety of
causes, do all kinds of projects, get to know one
another, and make a difference. Our first project
will be participating in the MLK DAY OF SERVICE on
January 19.
OKAY, I’M IN. NOW WHAT?
We’re looking for volunteers to join our committee
and those who want to participate as volunteers.
Committee positions include:
-
Project coordinator – (2 to 3 people) Coordinate
with the organization we’re serving to scope out
project logistics
-
Volunteer recruitment coordinator - Help
recruit additional members and spread the word
-
Resource coordinator – Coordinate supplies
needed for the project
-
Agency recruitment coordinator – Identifying and
researching agencies that fit types of service
projects suggested by the committee
-
Educational coordinator – Work on programs or
materials to educate members about the
issue/agency we’re serving and how to build
awareness of it “in the real world”
-
IT consultant – Calling all tech gurus,
web-savvy folks, and computer whizzes to help us
with a web presence
-
Evaluation coordinator – Work with us to
quantify results of our efforts in anticipation
of replicating the program elsewhere or applying
for supporting grants
