 HandsOn Northeast Georgia is working to organize
more Family Friendly volunteer opportunities!
Our
goal is to coordinate at least one project a month
that is safe and fun for families, especially those
with younger children, to get engaged.
September Project- Adopt-A Street Clean-up--
Rescheduled due to Rain-Out
Saturday, October 24, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
Families will help cleaning up litter from the
street adopted by HandsOn Northeast Georgia.

October Project- Rivers Alive -- Rescheduled due to
Rain.
Sunday, November 8th from 2-6 p.m.
Families will be a part
of this annual state-wide river clean-up event to
help protect Athens’ most valuable water source: the
Oconee River and its’ tributaries. To

November Project-
Thanksgiving Day Outreach for the Hungry
Saturday, November 21, 2009 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Families and volunteers are
needed to help sort donated goods such as clothing,
canned goods, and other personal items. Toiletry
bags will be assembled on site as well.
These items will be distributed at the Thanksgiving
Day Outreach for the Hungry at Timothy.

The FamilyServe is
currently looking for volunteers to join the
steering committee. The committee works to
identify projects in the community, assist with
recruiting families to participate, and collecting
supplies to support the projects. If you would like
to join the committee, please contact

Grigsby, FamilyServe Chair.
